Frequently Asked Questions

What is Women R.O.C.?

Women Right of Center (Women R.O.C.) is a group of like-minded women based in Southwestern Indiana. Women R.O.C. was established to give women a place to gather, become informed about political and social issues and gain involvement in local, state, and federal politics. Our mission is to empower women to cast informed votes and become involved in issues that concern us, our families and our nation. While based in Southwestern Indiana, Women R.O.C. is growing into other areas of the state and country.

Do you have to be a woman to join Women R.O.C.?

Anyone can join! We invite women and men. However, our constitution states that only women who pay membership dues have the right to vote in our organization. Women R.O.C. invites men to join as “Friends of Women R.O.C.” Men are also welcome to join us on Twitter, Facebook and the “In the Know Club” section of our web site.

Are you a republican group?

The Women R.O.C. constitution does not claim any party affiliation. We are a group of like-minded women who are “right of center.”  The words “conservative,”  “right of center” and “republican” are regularly used in the same context but Women R.O.C. feels they are not one in the same. Several Women R.O.C. members are self-proclaimed republicans and several classify themselves as “independent” or without party affiliation. The group has been established to educate women in general.

Do you hold regular meetings?

Yes! Women R.O.C. hosts three types of meetings:

  • General membership meetings, where members are requested to attend, vote on pertinent issues and bring potential members.
  • Public meetings, where the group hosts invited speakers for the purpose of educating members and the public on certain topics or campaigns.
  • Public forums, which are larger events for members and the public to examine and discuss topics or issues or to receive training of some kind.

Do members pay dues?

Yes, our members pay dues so that Women R.O.C. will have funds for placing ads, developing our website, hosting events, etc. — all of which provide a means for Women R.O.C. to have a voice on issues of importance. Membership terms and conditions are explained on the membership form found under “How to Join” on the Women R.O.C. web site. Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions.
